The one-minute version
You don’t need an account or an app. Open the link you were sent, tap Open invitation, add your name, say who’s coming and save. That’s it.
Replying
- Add your name so the hosts know who’s coming.
- Choose a time if there is more than one.
- Say how many are coming. Some events ask for adults and children separately, and some ask for each child’s name and class.
- Answer any questions the hosts added. Some are required.
- The hosts may ask for your email so they can register you. If they do, the page says so.
- You can change your reply any time by opening the same link again.
Can’t come?
Tap Can’t make it on the invitation, or use the I can’t come link in a reminder email. Either one frees your place for someone else, and you can change your mind later.
The waiting list
If an event is full you’ll join a waiting list. If a place opens up you’re moved up automatically, and if you gave an email you’ll get a message saying so.
Food and gifts
If the hosts made a list, pick a dish to bring or an item to give, and add your own idea if they allow it. You can change it later, and other guests will see that it’s taken.
Calendar and directions
Use Add to calendar to save it, and the address link for directions.
For an event listed on Discover, the exact address shows after you reply (or straight away if the host invited you by name). Until then you see the suburb.
Reminders
If you add an email, you get a reminder before the event. Every reminder has a link to stop them, and you can still reply any time. We use your email for reminders about that event.
Messaging the hosts
Use Message the hosts to ask a question. Only you and the hosts can see the conversation, and any reply shows on your invitation.
Photos
If the hosts turned on the gallery, you can add photos, see everyone’s, and remove your own. Photos are deleted automatically some months after the event. If a photo of you or your child shouldn’t be there, tell the hosts or email privacy@phatesar.app.
Clubs and meetups
A club page lists the upcoming sessions. If your name is remembered on your device, joining is one tap, and Can’t come is just as easy. You can ask for a reminder before every session.
Public events
Events on Discover are open to anyone and checked by us first. You see the suburb, time and photo, and you get the address when you reply. If something looks wrong, use Report this event on the event page: we read every report, and we don’t tell the host who reported.
Your information
The hosts see your name, your reply, your answers and your email if you gave one. Other guests see how many are coming and what’s being brought, but not your answers. Answers to the hosts’ questions are deleted 90 days after the event.

Staying safe with new people
If you don’t know the hosts, meet in a public place, tell someone where you’re going and trust your instincts. Call 000 in an emergency. Report anything that worries you.
